Carrie Prejean - Finally a Daughter to be Proud Of!

Miss California, Carrie Prajean, is involved in a sex scandal, but this is one her parents can feel proud about!  When asked about her personal feelings on "Gay Marriage" at the Miss USA 2009 competition, Carrie gave an honest answer!  Her answer ignited a firestorm of rebuke and ultimately cost her the Miss USA crown.

Apparently, it’s not all right to voice opinions that the judges in such a contest don’t agree with.  It wouldn’t have mattered if she had spoken with the "tongues of angels" on the subject, because the judge who asked the question didn’t get the answer he wanted.  He was supposed to be judging the manner, demeanor, and thoughtfulness of her response.  Instead, he judged the content - giving her a score of zero.

And now the Left is in full-throated frenzy, behaving as if Miss Prejean had advocated rounding up gays and shoving them into the ovens at Auschwitz.  Strike that.  They are behaving as if she were actually doing the rounding up and the shoving in herself!  Case in point is Alan Duncan, MP in the UK, who made the outrageous statement "If you read that Miss California has been murdered, you will know it was me, won’t you?"

Now, it has come down to death threats!  For voicing a simple opinion shared by over half of the residents of California.  It is the popular opinion, if  not the politically correct one.  And for her outspoken statement of her own personal belief, the "tolerant" left has decided she not only deserves to be called names, not only to be re-educated, but to be killed!

Mr. and Mrs. Prejean, I hope you are as proud of your daughter as I am.  She is a brave, savvy lady who knew her answer was probably going to cost her, but she gave it anyway.  She truly won this particular test of character, even if the actual crown went to somebody else.

When You Can’t Fail….

"No Fail" Grading Systems

I guess it had to happen.  Banks are "too big to fail."  GM is "too big to fail."  And now, in an era of Government bailing everyone else, student egos are simply "too big to fail."

Apparently the school systems are prepping the next batch of "bailout babies" who will need to be coddled through their entire lives - and doing it on our dime.  They’re telling kids that there’s no such thing as a "failing" grade - they can "make up" homework, demonstrate some "partial" mastery of a subject, basically can get through life without worrying about failure.

Unfortunately, this means when they get jobs, they’ll expect the same coddling.  Don’t show up for work on time?  No problem - we’ll "hold" your work for you, so that you can still get it done.  Don’t pay your bills?  The Government is going to put a hold on your credit score, no doubt, so that it doesn’t suffer.  I mean, these are the only "fair" things to do once you’ve spent 16 years of schooling telling the kids they "can’t" fail - we won’t LET them fail!

This is, of course, complete and utter bull manure.  How long do you think society can afford to subsidize, bail out, or prop-up those who refuse to get the message that the only true rode to success is hard-work and nurturing the talents you have?  We’re already nursing trillion dollar deficits and tens of trillions in debt over the next 8 years.  The whole system will collapse, and these kids will have to face the real world.  Who’s fault is it if they can’t handle "failure?"
