When You Can’t Fail….
I guess it had to happen. Banks are "too big to fail." GM is "too big to fail." And now, in an era of Government bailing everyone else, student egos are simply "too big to fail."
Apparently the school systems are prepping the next batch of "bailout babies" who will need to be coddled through their entire lives - and doing it on our dime. They’re telling kids that there’s no such thing as a "failing" grade - they can "make up" homework, demonstrate some "partial" mastery of a subject, basically can get through life without worrying about failure.
Unfortunately, this means when they get jobs, they’ll expect the same coddling. Don’t show up for work on time? No problem - we’ll "hold" your work for you, so that you can still get it done. Don’t pay your bills? The Government is going to put a hold on your credit score, no doubt, so that it doesn’t suffer. I mean, these are the only "fair" things to do once you’ve spent 16 years of schooling telling the kids they "can’t" fail - we won’t LET them fail!
This is, of course, complete and utter bull manure. How long do you think society can afford to subsidize, bail out, or prop-up those who refuse to get the message that the only true rode to success is hard-work and nurturing the talents you have? We’re already nursing trillion dollar deficits and tens of trillions in debt over the next 8 years. The whole system will collapse, and these kids will have to face the real world. Who’s fault is it if they can’t handle "failure?"
